The neck shows age early: crepey skin, horizontal lines, and a looseness that the face above it may not yet have. InMode's guidance lists the neck with the cheeks as soft tissue for the 24-pin tip at 2 to 3 mm, with lower energy because the skin is thin. The heat contracts the tissue and builds collagen, which tightens the skin and softens the lines. A course is three sessions, four to six weeks apart. From £295 per session at 8 Clinic, 8 Devonshire Place, with the neck priced as an area and the course price in writing at a free consultation.
What it does on the neck
The neck is where depth and energy matter most, because the skin is thin, nerves run close and the fat beneath is wanted on a slim neck. The clinician works the neck in zones at neck depths with lower energy over the thinnest skin. Crepey skin tightens and horizontal lines soften over the three months after the course. A heavy, loose neck is more than Morpheus8 tightens, and the clinician says so and plans the right treatment instead; for the neck, Morpheus8 is sometimes combined with Sofwave at our sister clinic at the same address in one plan.
The evidence
The device is FDA-cleared in the US for dermatological procedures needing coagulation or contraction of soft tissue. On the lower face and neck, a 2020 study of 247 patients treated with Morpheus8 and another radiofrequency device found 93% pleased with the result. Three had a temporary nerve weakness and a few had prolonged swelling or a hardened area, all resolved. A 2021 series of nine patients treated on the jowl and neck after a facelift, with Morpheus8 and a second radiofrequency device, found marked improvement in 55% at six months. The safety page explains what the regulator has reported and how we work.
Who it suits, and the session
Crepey skin, horizontal lines and early to moderate laxity of the neck, usually treated with the face. At the higher energy levels the device is cleared in the US for skin types I to IV; darker skin is treated at lower settings. Numbing cream for 30 to 45 minutes, then about an hour for the face and neck together, with redness, swelling and grid marks for two to five days; the downtime page goes through the days. The change shows from about three weeks, peaks at three months after the last session, and lasts a year or more in our clinic's experience with one maintenance session a year.
