The skin over the hip and the side of the waist loosens with weight change and age. InMode's guidance lists the hips among the thin-fat body areas, where the fat under the skin is under a centimetre and the depth is set accordingly. What it does on the hips
In our practice the clinician works the hip and the side of the waist in zones at moderate depth with the body tip or the 24-pin tip, set for the thin layer over the hip bone. Crepey or loosened skin tightens from about three weeks and firms over the three months after the course as collagen rebuilds; stretch marks across the hip soften by an amount that varies from person to person. The clinician tests the skin's elasticity at the free consultation and says plainly whether skin tightening, fat reduction or both is the right plan.
The evidence
The device is FDA-cleared in the US for dermatological procedures needing coagulation or contraction of soft tissue. No published study measures the hips alone, and we say so; the body series and the 2026 review of 41 studies are on the Morpheus8 Body page.
Who it suits, and the session
Loosened or crepey skin over the hips and the side of the waist, with or without stretch marks, on skin that still has elasticity. At the higher energy levels the device is cleared in the US for skin types I to IV; darker skin is treated at lower settings. Numbing cream for 30 to 45 minutes, then both sides in one session, with redness, swelling, grid marks and some bruising for several days; the downtime page goes through the days.
