What it does on the cheeks
Two or three passes at different depths, deeper over the soft tissue below the cheekbone and shallower over the bone itself. Pores refine and acne scars soften as collagen rebuilds under them; three to four sessions are usual for scars. If you are petite or worried about losing volume in the cheeks, say so: radiofrequency heat can reduce fat, and the clinician plans the depths to keep the fullness you have. Hollow cheeks are a volume question, not a tightening one, and the clinician says so.
The evidence
The device is FDA-cleared in the US for dermatological procedures needing coagulation or contraction of soft tissue. A 2026 review of radiofrequency microneedling across 41 studies found acne scars consistently improved. No published study measures the cheeks alone, and we say so; the 2025 safety study of the forehead, eye, mouth and jawline zones reported no pigment change, scarring or prolonged redness.
Who it suits, and the session
Slackening over the cheekbone, enlarged pores, acne scars and a rough surface on skin that still has elasticity. At the higher energy levels the device is cleared in the US for skin types I to IV; darker skin is treated at lower settings, and the clinician says at the free consultation what is safe for yours. Numbing cream for 30 to 45 minutes, then 30 to 45 minutes for the face, with redness, swelling and grid marks for two to five days; the downtime page goes through the days. The change shows from about three weeks, peaks at three months after the last session, and lasts a year or more in our clinic's experience with one maintenance session a year.
